Wishing everyone a very Happy Holiday season and a peaceful and prosperous New Year!
Welton chose to make donations to local charities this holiday season in lieu of gifts and on behalf of its tenants and valued business partners. Based on the programs offered and the impact they have on the community, this year the following charities were selected:
Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin – A hunger-relief charity, their goal is to make sure everyone in southwestern Wisconsin has enough of the right kinds of food through food drives, fundraisers, and programs such as Field to Foodbank, Food Rescue, Mobile Pantries, and Kids Cafe.
Domestic Abuse Intervention Services – DAIS offers crisis intervention and community education/prevention programs, including a 24-hour Help Line, programming for children from violent homes, legal advocacy, support groups, emergency safety planning and the only domestic violence shelter for all of Dane County.
Easter Seals Wisconsin – Serving close to 10,000 children and adults with disabilities and their families each year in Wisconsin, their mission is to increase independence, maximize opportunities, minimize barriers, and enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Habitat for Humanity of Dane County – Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses with the help of the partner families. Habitat homes are sold to partner families at no profit, financed with affordable, no-interest loans. The homeowners’ monthly mortgage payments are used to build more Habitat houses.
Boys and Girls Club of Dane County – Touching the lives of nearly 5,500 young people, their mission is to be the leader in youth development programs by developing partnerships to produce positive outcomes for young people, families and communities.
